An Investment in the Next Generation
The Joffrey Ballet’s dance education programs are an investment in the next generation of both dancers and audiences. For many, a Joffrey program is the beginning of a lifelong love of the arts. For some, it is something even more profound: the first step in a dance career that might not have happened without the Joffrey.
The Joffrey is committed to ensuring that high-quality dance education available to all, regardless of family background or financial resources. Because it is so rigorous, dance training is expensive. While young children may begin with one class per week at a cost of approximately $1,500 per year, by the age of 12 serious students must take several classes per week. By the time they reach the level of Trainee, their financial commitment for tuition alone has grown to over $8,000 per year. For talented but under-resourced Chicago children and young adults from around the world, this expense puts a dance education out of reach. That is why the Joffrey provides close to $400,000 in scholarships and tuition waivers for talented and motivated students at all levels each year.
Gifts at any level are welcome and will allow for under-resourced students to study at the Joffrey Academy of Dance. Please join us in supporting the next generation by making your gift today.
