After a balmy hiatus during the summer months, event season is kicking into high gear again, and not without its fair share of glitz, glamour and fashion.  Perhaps one of the most fashionable is Couture & Cocktails, presented by the Women's Board of The Joffrey Ballet.  This year, the fifth annual soiree is taking place on Friday, September 24, so you better start shopping for that cocktail dress now.

Considered the official launch of The Joffrey Ballet's 2010-2011 season, the fifth annual soiree is being held at the recently renovated W Chicago City Center in the heeart of the Loop.  The sexy W image is now even sexier, creating the perfect backdrop for the dramatic fashion show featuring the couture fashions of internationally known designer Carmen Mark Valvo.  It should go without saying, but expect plenty of cocktails, along with hors d'oeuvres, a silent and live auction, and an opportunity to dance the night away alongside Joffrey Ballet company members.

The evening begins at 6PM for VIP's ($500, $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000 ticket and package holders), which includes an extended reception, the chance to mix and mingle with Carmen Marc Valvo, and an invitation to attend a post-brunch party with the famed designer at Neiman Marcus the following morning.  The remaining--and still fortunate and charitable--ticket holders are invited to join the party at 7pm.
