Matthew Adamczyk



Matthew Adamczyk joined The Joffrey Ballet in 2003 as an Arpino Apprentice. He was promoted to full company in 2005.


Mr. Adamczyk grew up in Ware, Massachusetts. He studied dance from an early age at The Betty Gundersen Studio of Dance. At age 16, he continued his education at The Harid Conservatory under the teaching of Svetlana Osiyeva.

Since joining the Joffrey Ballet, Mr. Adamczyk has danced several ballets including leading roles in Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, The Dream, Cinderella, The Green Table, Motown Suite, To Know Her, Lacrymosa, Lilac Garden, Age of Innocence, In the Night, Valses Poeticos, Carousel (A Dance), Aria, Les Noces, Postcards, " with my heart," Crossed, Son of Chamber Symphony, La Bayadère, The Concert (or, The Perils of Everybody), The Merry Widow, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, Bells, Forgotten Land, Don Quixote, No Other, Incantations, and Othello.

Mr. Adamczyk is the recipient of The Rudolf Nureyev Education Fellowship, The Jeannot B. Cerrone Award for Excellence in Performance, and Pointe Magazine's VIP List: Shinning Stars of 2006. He is also an established artist, creating original paintings in oil and acrylic. His work has been seen at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC, Chicago's Center on Halsted, and he has created a mural at the Fox Theater in St. Louis. Currently his work is on display at The Deluca Gallery in Provincetown, MA.
